Shock as Liverpool wonderkid seals stunning £20m switch to arch-rivals

The Merseyside giants will be making major decisions on several players’ futures in the coming days and weeks, but some of them will be more than tricky. Liverpool are in for a difficult call to make with a Premier League rival keen to snare a wonderkid away from Anfield this summer.

Liverpool have made some major moves in the ongoing transfer window, with their pursuit of Florian Wirtz grabbing all the headlines this summer.

However, the Reds are aware of the need for player sales and have already sold Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford this summer for an initial transfer fee of £13.5m.

Liverpool also have a decision to make about a top wonderkid, who is attracting serious interest from a Premier League rival, who have identified him as their priority target.

Liverpool wonderkid set for switch to Premier League rivals

Ben Doak will be itching for first-team football next season after impressing everyone during his loan spell at Middlesbrough in the previous campaign.

The 19-year-old is rated highly at Liverpool, but he is unlikely to get regular game time next season and a transfer is highly likely in the ongoing transfer window.

According to TEAMTalk, Everton boss David Moyes has identified him as his top target and is a massive admirer of the player.

Doak would be keen on a move to Everton if an offer arrives, but the two Merseyside clubs’ valuation of the player is vastly different.

Liverpool believe they should get somewhere around £30m from his sale, but Everton feel he is worth half that figure.

The Toffees are prepared to go up to as much as £20m for the Scottish winger, who has an ally in Moyes at Everton.

The Blues believe they can negotiate down the price and take Doak to their new stadium this summer.
