Liverpool star will not leave Anfield after a big money deal is rejected.
The Reds have had to deal with a lot of rumours linking their best players away from the club. Real Madrid made an official enquiry for Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this month, but Liverpool rejected even before fee was discussed. The club now insist that the defender will remain at Anfield past this month.
Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were also linked with moves away, but nothing has materialized. This means Arne Slot gets to keep his key players as Liverpool seek to challenge for all the possible trophies later this season.

Keeping their best players at the club this January is the best decision. Liverpool losing any player would mean they would need to replace them in a short window. And with the market this month, it would be advisable not to overpay for some players.
With the injury to Diogo Jota, retaining Darwin Nunez is priority for Liverpool. The Reds rejected a reported £70million for the Uruguayan. Now, the details of the offer have been revealed. Saudi Pro League clubs were prepared to pay Nunez a whopping £560,000 per week offer from Al Hilal. Liverpool rejected the offer because they felt replacing the striker would cost more than the fee offered. Injuries to Diogo Jota also complicated letting Nunez leave.
Arne Slot praised Nunez for his performance last weekend as he came off the bench to score a brace against Brentford. The Dutch coach then challenged the striker to cement his starting spot with Jota out of the team:
“The most difficult thing in football for a team and as an individual is to find consistency. Only a few players in the world are able to be at the same level every three days in a row, then there is a big, big, big group of players that are able to play very good many times, but not every time.
“He [Nunez] is one of the group of players that plays good many times, and it would be nice for him to go into the bracket of the seven or eight players who play well every three days. That is the next step for him. I know we have one or two players who are in that group, and it is a nice challenge for him to get in that group as well.”
