Real Madrid want another Liverpool star valued at £65m

Real Madrid just won’t stop when it comes to Liverpool players. Having already set their eyes on Ibrahima Konaté, Los Blancos are planning for another swoop for a Liverpool midfielder.

Xabi Alonso already made enemies in Merseyside after signing Trent Alexander-Arnold last season. With the Englishman’s contract almost expired, the Spanish giants paid a small fee to bring him in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Konaté’s contract expires at the end of this season. There were extension talks with the Frenchman’s agent, but reports suggest they haven’t ended on a good note.

The 26-year-old defender has decided to leave, and Real Madrid is confident in signing the FIFA World Cup runner-up for free in the summer of 2026.

Konaté isn’t Madrid’s sole defensive target as Marc Guéhi is also on their radar. After having almost joined Liverpool in the summer, the Englishman now prefers a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

This came in as a big shocker to the Reds. If Guéhi does finally decide to move to the Iberian Peninsula, Arne Slot might need to start finding other reinforcements.

With Joe Gomez having attracted interest from AC Milan, it will only get difficult to find experienced centre-backs for Liverpool.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ryan Gravenberch is another player Real Madrid are considering to sign. The outlet also claims that one among Eduardo Camavina, Jude Bellingham or Federico Valverde is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabéu in 2026.

Xabi Alonso will be looking forward to strengthening that midfield lineup after a possible departure. The Merseysiders value Gravenberch at £65m.

However, no amount is too high for Los Blancos as they have previously proved in the transfer market. Gravenberch has been a very important piece in Arne Slot’s first season as Liverpool manager.

The Dutchman helped his fellow countryman win the English Premier League, a feat no Reds manager has been able to achieve before.

No Liverpool manager in the past has won the Premier League in their first season in charge. The league is a bigger thing altogether, as no Reds manager has even been able to win a silverware in their maiden season.

With defensive changes already hanging, it will make the transfer strategy a bit more straining for Arne Slot. Ryan Gravenberch is a big shoe to fill, and losing him now would make the foundation shaky at Anfield.
