Liverpool have been left frustrated at the way Real Madrid convinced Trent Alexander-Arnold to leave his boyhood club on a free transfer. However, the club are now preparing for another such exit as one more top star runs down his contract at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold confirmed earlier this week that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract with the club runs out this summer.
He is set to join Real Madrid, and Liverpool could still financially gain from his exit as the Spanish giants want the defender in their squad for the Club World Cup next month.
Real Madrid also have their eyes on Alexis Mac Allister, but Liverpool should be more worried about another Reds star joining the Spanish giants on a free transfer.

Liverpool set to lose one more star to Real Madrid on a free transfer

Real Madrid have turned signing some top players on a free transfer into an art form over the last few years.
They signed Antonio Rudiger a few years back, when his contract ran out at Chelsea, and more famously, Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a free transfer last year.
Alexander-Arnold will join them soon, and according to Marca, Real Madrid are plotting to sign one more Liverpool star on a free transfer.
Ibrahima Konate will be out of contract at the end of next season, and negotiations over a new deal have not gone according to plan.
Liverpool are worried that interest from Paris Saint-Germain has turned his head, and he even has suitors in Saudi Arabia this summer.
However, it has been claimed that Real Madrid are in contact with his representatives to convince him to move to Spain on a free transfer next year.
Real Madrid would prefer that he sees out his contract at Anfield next season and moves to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.
