Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni has shown no interest in leaving for Liverpool. The French international seems happy in the Spanish capital and would like to continue his journey with Los Blancos.
According to Matteo Moretto, Tchouaméni is happy with life in Spain and has committed to a future under Carlo Ancelotti. This news is a big hit for The Reds, as they had already missed out on the Frenchman while he was at Monaco.
Tchouaméni has started 89% of the games this season under Ancelotti, missing only one. At just 24, he has already won every trophy possible with Los Blancos.
The Frenchman arrived at the Spanish capital in 2022 after spending two seasons with Monaco. He enjoyed a commendable career in Ligue 1 which earned him a £85.3 million move to Real Madrid.
Aurélien recently concluded one of the most successful seasons of his career as he ended the 2023/24 season with a La Liga title, Supercopa de España, UEFA Champions League and a UEFA Super Cup.
Liverpool was interested in the midfielder back when he was at Monaco. However, Real Madrid were the ones who were successful in convincing him to play for them instead.
Aurélien Tchouaméni has responded to Liverpool interest
Liverpool had expected that with everything won in Spain, Tchouaméni would be looking for new challenges abroad. However, the Frenchman doesn’t seem interested in new challenges outside the Iberian peninsula.
Aurélien made 38 appearances for Madrid last season where he registered three goals and an assist. Los Blancos are set to a decent start this season sitting three points behind league leaders FC Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s arrival has changed the Catalonian giants immensely as the club has won eight out of their nine league matches, losing only once. Madrid on the other hand has drawn three and won six out of their nine league games.
Following Tchouaméni’s disinterest, Liverpool will look forward to focusing on other transfers. Portuguese sources claim that The Reds have reignited their interest in the former Feyenoord star Orkun Kökçü.
Kökçü has previously worked under Arne Slot at Feyenoord and credits most of his success to the Dutch manager. The Reds had previously shown interest in the midfielder under Jürgen Klopp when he was still playing in the Netherlands.
Although primarily a No.10, Arne Slot has transformed the Turkish international into a versatile midfielder. The Reds could use an extra midfielder and Kökçü seems to fit the bill.
