Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of June 2025 and there have been no talks of extension yet. With the clock running out, Spanish giants Real Madrid are pushing to secure the full-back for their own reasons.
Any clubs outside England will be allowed to open talks with the full-back post-new year. This is because Trent’s contract is set to expire in June next year and clubs are allowed to sign pre-contracts with the player for next season.
Real Madrid are very keen on signing the Englishman following an injury crisis on the right flank. Spanish full-back Dani Carvajal has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear against Villareal.
The 2-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu came at a cost as Carvajal might not return for almost a year. Los Blancos had shown previous interest in Alexander-Arnold but injury to Carvajal will tempt them to prepone their plans.
Madrid had hoped to sign the Englishman for a free post-June but now they are thinking of making an offer to The Reds in the January transfer window.
Liverpool will have to make a decision quickly as Madrid might have already started their preparations for the new year. The Reds also have other key extensions to focus on so they’ll have to take it one case at a time.
“He (TAA) owes a bit to Liverpool” – former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool expires in June 2025
Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer sat down with Gambling Zone for an interview where they also talked about Trent’s future at Anfield.
He’s won everything at Liverpool. It’s not like he’ll look back at his career and wish he stayed back to win the league. Steven Gerrard did that. Steven’s objective in his sports career was to win the league at Liverpool. He almost did it, but it fell away at the end.

The former Republic of Ireland international believes that Alexander-Arnold has no reason to stay at Liverpool. The Englishman has won everything there is to win and he wouldn’t regret leaving the club in the future.
McAteer cited the most important of them all, the Premier League title which The Reds achieved after 30 years. Jürgen Klopp might be partly to blame if Trent leaves Liverpool by the end of the season.
Steven Gerrard wanted to win the league with his boyhood club. But a single slip resulted in one of the biggest league bottles in the history of the Premier League.
