Liverpool have been informed if they want to sign Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, they will have to pay somewhere between £20-£30million.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move away from Madrid this summer as the club has decided not to offer him an extension to his £117,000/week contract.
Liverpool and AC Milan appear to be the frontrunners for the winger’s signature.
Asensio’s contract at Real Madrid expires next summer in June 2023, therefore he could be sold this summer, in order to avoid losing him on a free next year.

According to AS, Liverpool and Arsenal could make a move for the three-time UEFA Champions League winner.
However, it looks as if Liverpool have cooled their interest given that they’ve recruited Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho as attackers for the upcoming season.
It’s also said that the Madrid player would want to be a guaranteed starter – something he hasn’t been during his time at the club.
Liverpool couldn’t offer him that, especially with their new signings alongside Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino already in the squad.
Marco Asensio back in April:
“Mo Salah is one of the best players in the world and he has been at the forefront of football for many years. He is in a wonderful club like Liverpool, which fought and competed in great battles to win great titles over many years.” #lfc [mirror] pic.twitter.com/HIUKcDU3ec

“He was at the forefront of football for many years, he is in a wonderful club like Liverpool, who fought and competed in great battles to win great titles over many years.”
He added: “Salah, in short, is a player with a special and great talent and a very good left foot that he plays with distinction, it is always a pleasure to watch any game he plays in.”
