Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah to battle it out with Manchester City signing Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot this season.
The Egyptian tied with Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min on 23 goals last season as the pair shared the prize.
Manchester City signed Haaland for €60m (£51.1m) earlier this summer and the Norwegian is likely to be a strong contender in his debut season.
However, Salah will be looking to go level with Thierry Henry who has the record for the most Golden Boots won with four.
Erling Haaland the favourite to win Premier League golden boot
Having not scored any less than 19 goals during his five seasons in England, Salah has always competed for the top scorer prize.
The bookmakers, however, have placed Haaland as the favourite at 7/2.
Salah enters as second favourite at 9/2, ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane (6/1) who is also a three-time winner of the award.
Last season’s joint-winner Son is joint fourth favourites with Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo at 10/1, who has only won the award once back in 2007/08.

Salah’s record
Back in Salah’s debut season with the Reds, he managed to notch 32 goals from 36 games to place himself third in the all-time Premier League top scoring seasons.
For 38-game seasons, Salah is the outright record holder ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Alan Shearer.
The Egyptian forward has now signed a new long-term deal with the club last week and has his eyes set on breaking more records in a Liverpool shirt.
Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, no player has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than Salah since he joined Liverpool.
According to Squawka, he’s also had the most shots and most shots on target too in that time; if you don’t buy a ticket…
He's won the PL Golden Boot in three of his five seasons at Liverpool:
◉ 2017/18 (32 goals)
◉ 2018/19 (22 goals)
◎ 2019/20 (19 goals)
◎ 2020/21 (22 goals)
◉ 2021/22 (23 goals)Thierry Henry (4) is the only player in the competition's history with more. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/ITqs0efXBE

Liverpool Forwards
New signing Darwin Nunez has been placed at odds of 12/1 as the sixth favourite for the crown.
The Uruguayan is fresh of winning the 2021/22 Primeira Liga Player of the Year after an outstanding season for Benfica.
Scoring 26 and assisting four times in 28 games, as well as six in the Champions League demonstrates the clinical nature of the newly signed striker.
Right choice to push the boat out for Salah’s wages & not Mané’s. Whilst Mané remains a potent goal threat, his overall game waned (especially 1v1 threat). Salah is the opposite – he’s now an elite creator too.A rare profile. Nuñez & Díaz cover Mané’s goals & previous 1v1 threat.

Portuguese forward Diogo Jota had a fine season for Liverpool in the league, notching 15 goals and six assists in 35 games as Liverpool finished second.
He sits joint eighth favourite at 25/1 with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez as the race for the Premier League golden boot gets set to start on the 6th of August.
Columbian winger Luis Diaz will be looking to carry last season’s form into his first full season at the club and look to emulate Sadio Mane’s Golden Boot triumph from left wing; he enters as ninth favourite at 34/1.
