The numbers behind Liverpool's 250 goal trio

Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané have officially scored 250 goals for Liverpool Football Club between them. Enough said.

Let's rewind the clock by five years.

Jürgen Klopp has just joined Liverpool Football Club who languish in mid-table, struggling for goals.

Roberto Firmino was signed for £29m just months before but has failed to get going, Sadio Mané is blowing hot and cold at Southampton while Mohamed Salah is still viewed in England alongside Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku as a Chelsea reject.

For their three respective clubs Salah, Mané and Firmino would finish the season having scored a combined 41 goals.

It's almost impossible to fathom now when you look back on it as since Philippe Coutinho departed Merseyside in January of 2018, this trio has been an almost unstoppable force.

Mo Salah's header from an Andy Robertson corner at Brighton on Wednesday was the 250th goal the three have scored under Klopp combined, with the Egyptian leading the way on 94 from 148 games, Mané on 79 from 166 and Firmino 77 from 240.

Despite being afforded a head start on the Egyptian, Mané and Firmino have watched Salah race ahead of them since his record-breaking 44 goal initiation to life in Liverpool Red but his addition has only served to benefit the other two.

It's often forgotten that while Salah rocketed his way to 44 goals in his first season at the club, this was also the most prolific individual season of Firmino's career too.

The Brazilian scored 27 goals from 54 appearances in all competitions, notching 15 in the Premier League and being a part of a record-breaking Champions League campaign in which he, Salah and Mané all hit double digits in the same campaign.

Similarly, Mané has gone from strength to strength alongside his Brazilian and Egyptian teammates, winning the golden boot alongside Salah for the 2018/19 season and currently enjoying his third 20 goal plus season in a row.

Together, they're simply unstoppable when on form so let's have a look at some of the stats behind their success.
