Uncertainty over the future of 27 year old midfielder has fans split

Contrasting reports emerged on Wednesday night concerning the future of Naby Keita.

Initially, reports from Germany suggested that contract talks had been halted due to the Guinean international being upset at his current situation.

While it was unclear whether this unhappiness came from a lack of game time or the nature of the contract talks, Liverpool fans were all quick to give their opinions.

There may not be a more polarising figure within the current Liverpool squad than Keita.

For the most part, the Anfield faithful are either fully behind Keita and feel he has something to offer or they would actively be looking to ship him out.

In terms of getting into a rhythm on the pitch, it appears extremely difficult for Keita when he is in and out of the side so often.

The other side to Naby Keita is the injury record. Up until last season, it was more of a novelty to witness a Naby Keita performance for Liverpool.

Fleeting appearances and inconsistent form have frustrated the fans of the club ever since his arrival.

This is where Keita splits the fanbase right down the middle.

While the player might be frustrated at his situation, it would be nonsensical for a transfer to be sanctioned during this window.

With the number of injuries Liverpool have racked up in recent weeks, Keita will need to step up and help his side through this rough start to the season.
