Liverpool's interest in Fiorentina's highly-rated Dusan Vlahovic is hotting up it would appear as multiple outlets from Italy report on their desire to sign him.

An initial report from Tutto Sport suggested that Liverpool were on the move to finally sign Vlahovic but AC Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid were all interested as well.

Corriere dello Sport have most heavily reported on Liverpool's interest in the Serbian and they claimed that Man City and Spurs were interested and they said that even Liverpool and Manchester United could enter the race to sign the Serbian.

Following on from that, Corriere dello Sport claimed that Liverpool are ready to make an offer for the forward, who is valued at €75m (£64m).

Now, Tutto Sport, cited by Paisley Gates, claims that the Reds have been in contact with Dusan Vlahovic and have made enquiries about signing him after talks with Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade in July.

Vlahovic signing would show ambition

Signing Vlahovic from Fiorentina for anything over £60m would be a huge signal of intent from Liverpool as it would underline their desire to win silverware.

It's unclear if the Reds want to sign him in the January transfer window but it does seem unlikely the Viola would be willing to let him leave mid-season.

Signal of intent aside, I do have my concerns over whether or not he is the best fit for Liverpool and I've mentioned this before.

His build isn't conducive for pressing high up the pitch and while he is a clinical finisher, Liverpool could wait until next summer, pay £11m more and sign Erling Haaland for £75million as his release clause will be in play.

Of course, the Norwegian will demand much higher wages but he's proven to be the better player and he would be far better in Jurgen Klopp's system.
