Liverpool 'closely following' fast €50M-rated winger - he is the brother of a former Reds' target

Earlier in the transfer window, Liverpool said goodbye to Neco Williams as he moved on to Nottingham Forrest.

Now the club is linked with Nico Williams - a winger who plies his trade at Atheltic Bilbao.

The Reds were linked with a move for his brother Inaki Williams in the past, but a move never materialised and now the Reds have their eye on the exciting young winger.

Liverpool's frontline has recently seen a re-rejuvenation with Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino all leaving this summer and Williams could certainly be a smart move for the future.

Latest reports on Nico Williams

Liverpool have actually been linked with a move in the past, but reports today in Spain have revealed the Reds have been linked with the winger once again.

According to AS, the Reds have been closely monitoring the 20-year-old talent and he currently has a release clause of €50m which could tempt Liverpool.

The winger is still making his name in Spain and isn't ready for a big club yet, but clearly the talent and potential is there for a big club to sign him in a season or two.

His manager described him as 'fast' and 'a player you like to watch'.

Would he suit Liverpool?

From what he's shown at Bilbao so far, he is a direct and very quick winger.

He fits the mould of a Jurgen Klopp attacker in that sense, but he is yet to score in La Liga despite 34 appearances.

That part of his game is something he will have to mature into, but the early signs of promising with plenty of examples of picking the ball up deep, running at players and ability with both feet.

There's still a lot of development needed before any sort of high-profile move can be made, but Williams is certainly one to watch.
