Journalist confirms Liverpool want to sign €64million - Klopp made a bid for him previously

Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic as a replacement for Sadio Mane.

The 30-year-old forward is set to leave the club this summer for a move to Bayern Munich.

He's looking for a new challenge and Bayern have made an offer to Liverpool worth €30million plus bonuses.

Jurgen Klopp's side is losing one of its best-ever forwards and how they replace him is vital.

Signing Christian Pulisic simply would not be an appropriate way to replace Mane.

The Chelsea star has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and Klopp can't afford to experiment at this stage.

Klopp has far too many demands to win silverware each season to experiment with players he thinks he could transform.

Having said that, we've seen what the German can achieve with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and now Luis Diaz and his man-management is second to none.

It's a different story with Pulisic though because the American hasn't been showing his potential the way you would expect before sealing a move to Anfield.

Klopp promoted Pulisic to the senior Borussia Dortmund team when he was head coach and has tried to sign him for Liverpool in the past.

While it would fascinating to see them link up, I simply don't know if the 23-year-old can explode into life with Liverpool the way Salah and Mane did.

The €64million attacker only scored 8 goals this season and had 5 assists to go with it.

Unfortunately, that's not good enough to move to a club like Liverpool targeting every major trophy.
