Welcome to Liverpool - Many fans are loving cryptic message from Liverpool's new €63m signing

Liverpool fans are loving Ibrahima Konate's cryptic GIF posted on Twitter, featuring Goku and Dragonball Z as he gets ready for pre-season.

His move to Liverpool was made official on Thursday as his RB Leipzig contract expired at midnight before his Anfield terms came into effect.

The French defender is expected to provide aerial dominance and aggression for the Reds and after a season in which very little quality was on show at the back, I cannot wait.

Liverpool have committed themselves to a package deal that will cost €63m [£54.2m] over the next five years which includes £70,000/week or £18.2m over the course of his contract.

Supporters react to cryptic Konate tweet

As Anfield Central covered earlier today, Konate has finally arrived in England and with a media day pencilled in, fans will soon see him pull on the famous Red jersey.

For those who don't watch Dragon Ball Z or never have, the GIF that Konate shared to Twitter will likely go over your head but the Anime-lover is essentially saying two things.

He's ready to go after waiting months for his Liverpool transfer and is ready to level up after taking what is a massive step in his career.

Liverpool have a very talented player on their hands and after we were told in April that RB Leipzig coaching staff think he'll be the best defender in the world one day, it's going to be exciting watching his progress.

Virgil van Dijk will be able to help him and Joe Gomez grow and develop before they one day form the Reds' partnership at the centre of defence.

When will we see him in action?

Liverpool are sure to release clips of him in training once they hit the Kirkby training pitches for pre-season which is set to start on the 12th of July.

Beyond that, pre-season friendlies are yet to be arranged as COVID has massively impacted the club's ability to travel to Asia and America for their annual tour but domestic matches will be arranged in due course.

Liverpool's Premier League season is set to begin on the 14th of August which leaves just over a month for Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff to prepare.

They will be without a few players initially as EUROs and Copa America stars will be granted leave to recover from their extended season

However, with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate set to be at pre-season from day one, it's time to start getting excited for the 2021/22 season.
