Fabrizio Romano says Klopp thinks £27m speed demon would be perfect for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp thinks that Adama Traore would be perfect for Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“There are a lot of links about him. We’re talking about a fantastic player,” he said on Don Robbie’s YouTube channel, via The Sport Review.

“The links about Liverpool are because Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player. He thinks Traore would be perfect for Liverpool.

“I’m told there are no negotiations between Liverpool and Wolves. It’s because Liverpool first have to sell players.

“They’re working on it and then they want to sign a new attacking player and a new midfielder if they have the right opportunity in August.

“Klopp likes the player but there are no negotiations between the two clubs. There isn’t something imminent for Liverpool as of today.”

Adam Traore is arguably the most entertaining player to watch in England - there are very few players able to pick the ball up and drive past four or five players.

The issue is that once he's done that, he struggles to score or assist.

In fact, in 41 appearances last season, he scored just three times and assisted twice.

That's genuinely awful for a Premier League attacker with nearly 3,000 minutes with his pace and ability on the ball.

That said, as an option off the bench, he would be the best out there.

Against tired legs, he would help the Reds drive forward and ensure that if Liverpool still needed to keep their counter-pressing in place, they would have someone with the energy, strength and drive to put that game plan into motion.

Without Raul Jimenez, the Spaniard didn't have a focal point to direct his crossing to but with the likes of Jota, Mane, Firmino and Salah at Liverpool, he'd be surrounded by quality that could see him return to the 6 goals and 12 assists he got in 2019/20.
