Jurgen Klopp provides major injury update ahead of Wacker Innsbruck and Stuttgart friendlies

Jurgen Klopp has denied an exclusive by yours truly and says that Joe Gomez is, in fact, not struggling with inflammation of his knee.

Anfield Central has a commitment to transparency and honesty that we feel is lacking from traditional media outlets in the modern game.

We believed were told in good faith that Joe Gomez had swelling around the knee in which he tore his patellar tendon.

The source we received the information from was one we had only worked with once before.

Jurgen Klopp has rubbished the story and we welcome the news being shot down. As Anfield Central’s editor in chief, you have my word we will not use this source again as we strive for accuracy and factual reporting.

What did Jurgen Klopp tell LFC?

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the gaffer said: “Not at all. No setbacks at all. Not for Joe, nothing – he’s trained completely normal.

“That’s the thing, these boys are not injured anymore, they are just not at 100 per cent yet. There are usually setbacks but so far there were no setbacks with Joe and Virgil and nobody [else] – they are all fine.

“What they had to do they did, no reaction with the knee, nothing, all fine. The worldwide web had obviously too much time.”

Again, we welcome Klopp rubbishing the story directly as we want nothing more than to be known for honest and accurate reporting on Liverpool Football Club.
