Harry Wilson has completed a permanent move to Fulham which may have helped pave the way for Fabio Carvalho's move to Anfield.

According to Goal, the Welsh forward has completed a £12million switch to Craven Cottage after a successful first season with the club.

In his first campaign with the London outfit, Wilson helped them return to the Premier League, sealing promotion with a top of the table finish.

The 25-year-old has 11 goals and 18 assists this season and will be desperate to show his class in England's top flight next season.

While it never worked out at Liverpool, his move to Fulham may have paved the way for Michael Edwards to sign Fabio Carvalho.

An announcement is still forthcoming but Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal to sign the 19-year-old is already complete.

He said: “The deal is done, 100 percent. The player has already visited the training ground, met with Jurgen Klopp, had his medical with Fulham’s permission.

“So everything is done between Fabio Carvalho and Liverpool. It’s a good deal I think for Fulham and a very interesting deal for Liverpool because they’ve signed a top talent.”

With Edwards set to take his leave as the club's sporting director this summer, it may be that Carvalho's move to Anfield was a final hurrah.

The 42-year-old has been fundamental to Liverpool's on-pitch success in recent years, helping Jurgen Klopp by signing the rough diamonds that are now world class operators.

From Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to Andy Robertson, Liverpool have been blessed to have one of the best sporting directors in the world during Klopp's tenure.
