Liverpool spent the most overall this summer transfer window as Arne Slot prepares the squad for a new challenge post-first Premier League title.
Alexander Isak joined the Reds on deadline day for a British record-breaking fee of £125m. The Swede had a hard time earning a move as employers Newcastle United weren’t keen on the striker’s departure.
This wasn’t the only time Liverpool broke the books this summer, as they previously set the same record by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for an all-inclusive £116m deal.
Another attacker who joined the squad was French striker Hugo Ekitike. He became the most expensive French striker in history when Liverpool paid £69m upfront, with a few sources suggesting add-ons in the equation.
All didn’t go well, though, for the Merseysiders as Marc Guéhi slipped right through their fingers following internal problems at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was comfortable walking away with one year left on his contract. This was after following a feud with the chairman regarding Guéhi’s decision.
All in all, it was a stupendous summer for the Reds, except for the cherry on top with Marc Guéhi. Interestingly, it looks like the club isn’t satisfied with this level of firepower in their squad, as new sources suggest plans regarding the January transfer window are already being made.

Liverpool target Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers for the new year

Sources suggest that the Reds are keen on signing Villa star Morgan Rogers in the upcoming transfer window. This is in sight with Slot’s need to find a replacement for Mohamed Salah, considering the Egyptian only signed a two-year contract extension at Anfield.
The Kop Correspondent on X talks about a certain clause in Harvey Elliot’s loan deal, which could help Liverpool have a better footing in the deal.
The journalist claims that the Reds have inserted a clause in the Elliot deal which allows them to meet Rogers’ asking price. With the Englishman’s contract expiring at the end of the decade, Liverpool have an exclusive opportunity to sign him as early as January due to the Harvey deal.
“Exclusive: Liverpool have a clause in the Harvey Elliot to Aston Villa contract which allows them to meet the Morgan Rogers asking price and get his signature as early as January. Release clause only for Liverpool, with Morgan Rogers being extremely keen to make the move. Unclear on the price at the moment”, claimed The Kop Correspondent on X.
