Liverpool faced Everton in their first game back from the international break.
The reds had a terrible week before the break began, as their dreams of a treble were shattered. Liverpool were knocked out on penalties in the Champions League after losing 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield. The reds also lost in the League Cup final that same weekend.
But Liverpool got back to winning ways on Wednesday night. There was slight pressure on Arne Slot’s men after Arsenal beat Fulham on Tuesday. It was a hard fought win in front of a record crowd on Wednesday night. The 60,331 attendance for the Merseyside derby is the most the club has seen in over 60 years. Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the game early in the second half to give the reds all three points. Liverpool maintain their 12-point lead in the Premier League with eight games to go.

When Liverpool boss Arne Slot was asked about the PGMOL revelation on Thursday, he was diplomatic with his answer:
“I think it’s always good that, if they think they’ve made a mistake, they acknowledge it.
“We all know mistakes happen, by us, by me, and by referees. It’s good they acknowledged it, but as I said yesterday, even pundits who aren’t Liverpool fans were clear about it. Let’s move on now.”
Liverpool take on Fulham in their next Premier League game this weekend.
