Omar Marmoush: Liverpool can’t allow Manchester City to sign him in January

Arne Slot is apparently happy with the state of his squad and Liverpool are not actively looking to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window. The Liverpool hierarchy have decided to hold their fire until the summer when they are expecting to carry out a major reshuffle of their squad. They have not completely ruled out signing anyone and if a long-term target becomes available and a deal makes financial sense, the club are prepared to act. It seems that scenario is about to come to fruition with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.

Liverpool are comfortable with where their squad are and do not believe they need January additions to sustain a title challenge in the latter half of the season.

There are murmurs of Liverpool looking at left-backs in the winter window and while the club do want to bring in a long-term successor for Andy Robertson, they are unlikely to do so before the summer transfer window.

Slot is happy with the squad and Liverpool feel they do not need to make any drastic decisions on bringing in new players this month despite fans wanting the club to act in the winter window.

Liverpool are ready to step in if needed but they are calm about the situation and are not expecting to do any significant business in the January transfer window.

However, their hands-off approach could lead to one of their top targets for next summer ending up at their biggest Premier League rivals this month.

Manchester City want Omar Marmoush in January

Manchester City are prepared to back Pep Guardiola with funds to strengthen his squad in the winter window to arrest their decline in form this season.

The Spaniard wants to add to his attacking options this month and according to the Daily Telegraph, Manchester City are pushing to secure a deal to sign Omar Marmoush this month.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward is the second-highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga this season behind Harry Kane with 13 goals in 15 appearances and even has eight assists to his name.

Marmoush has long been on Liverpool’s radar and has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the next summer transfer window.

Liverpool have been scouting him heavily for months and the forward has also been keen to move to Anfield due to his love for his idol Mohamed Salah.

A deal to take him to Liverpool next summer has been seen as more or less a foregone conclusion but Manchester City are ready to act this month and spoil the Merseyside giants’ plans.

Money is not an issue and Manchester City are prepared to offer as much as £60m to Eintracht Frankfurt to tempt them into selling him in the winter window.

Eintracht Frankfurt would prefer to sell him in the summer but they are not in a financial position to refuse big-money offers for Marmoush in January.

Liverpool must act fast to prevent Manchester City from signing their top target

With Manchester City getting into the act for Marmoush and trying to steal Marmoush in January, Liverpool must get their hands dirty as well.

If the Egyptian is one of their primary targets next summer, Liverpool must act fast and beat Manchester City to his signature in the winter window.

Manchester City are in a rare vulnerable position due to their drop in levels this season and the prospect of heavy sanctions from the 115 charges and Liverpool must ensure that they do not allow them to sign a top player such as Marmoush.

The forward is keen on a move to Liverpool and the club have already done groundwork on getting a deal done to sign him at the end of the season.

They must prepone his signing due to the latest development and not let Manchester City steal a march on them in the transfer window.
