The title celebrations at Liverpool are yet to die down, but some tough decisions are on the cards as the Reds look towards an overhaul of the squad. The Merseyside giants are keen to shift out several players, and one such star has emerged as a top target for Nottingham Forest.
Sporting director Richard Hughes is earning plaudits for the moves he has made ahead of the summer transfer window, which would see Florian Wirtz join the Reds in a record-breaking deal in the coming days.
However, Liverpool’s massive transfer spending, which could breach the £200m mark with the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, is likely to necessitate player sales to balance the books.
The Reds expect offers to arrive for several of their players in the coming days, and one such title hero has emerged as a top target for Forest ahead of the transfer window.

Nottingham Forest are ready to sign a Reds star on loan or a permanent deal

Jarell Quansah earned a Premier League winners’ medal on Sunday, but he only made 13 appearances. Only four of those came in the starting eleven.
He needs to play regular first-team football next season, and according to former scout Mick Brown, Forest are prepared to offer him an exit route out of Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are willing to loan him out this summer despite suggestions that he has a £30m price tag, and Forest are open to signing him on such a deal.
“Nottingham Forest are one of the sides interested in Quansah”, Brown told Football Insider.
“Whether it’s a permanent move or a loan, they want to do a deal.
“If he’s not playing regularly, he’s missing a key part of his development.
“From what I hear, Liverpool and the manager would be willing to let him go on loan, and a loan spell is exactly what he needs.
“He needs to play regularly in the Premier League, and there is no shortage of interest in him, so he can develop his game and get used to starting at the top level.
“Going to somewhere like Nottingham Forest would be good for him.”
