Liverpool want 'untouchable' £63M rated midfielder - he would be perfect in Klopp's midfield

Liverpool want to sign £63M rated Nicolo Barella who has been described as 'untouchable' by Inter Milan, but he may be forced to leave.

Once upon a time, he was thought to be impossible to sign as he is one of Milan's top players however, a financial crisis at the club could see some of their big names leave.

There would be no shortage of clubs interested in the midfielder and Liverpool just may do that considering they have three midfielders (James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita) all out of contract next summer.

Could Barella join Liverpool next summer?

According to Calciomercato.it, Liverpool have a ‘concrete’ interest in the Italian and could move for him in January.

He was previously thought to be untouchable but the club is under great financial distress and they could sell any one of their 'big names' in the hope of raising funds.

It's not clear how much he would cost, but his market value is at £63M and he still has four years left on his current deal.

The report claims that any one of the big players could leave and Barella has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a long time now.

Barella, 25, is a highly experienced international with 41 caps and a European Championship under his belt as well as being vastly experienced at club level.

His drive, energy and goal threat is something that would add value to almost any top team and his stats reflect that.

On FbRef, he has eight passing and attacking stats all in above the 90th percentile, showing just how progressive he is on the ball and how effective he is in the final third.

If Liverpool can get a deal done, they would have their attacking threat from midfield locked down for the next however many years and have a top class midfielder which would certainly be an upgrade on what they currently have in that position.
