"Many different sources told me this": Liverpool set for the "next Haaland race", according to Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool will be one of the clubs pushing hard to sign Jude Bellingham next summer, labelling it "next Haaland race".

The Englishman is one of the most highly rated players in Europe but it's unclear where he will be playing his football next summer.

Real Madrid is a likely destination and can offer more money than most clubs can as well as the promise of regular silverware.

Manchester United and Chelsea can also outspend Liverpool but have struggled to regularly challenge for top honours over the last several years.

Liverpool, while struggling this season, are a much more reliable option as far as winning trophies is concerned.

In fact, a player like Bellingham is exactly what Jurgen Klopp needs at RCM to take his team to the next level.

Fabrizio Romano has reported on the teenager's future, revealing what "many different sources" have told him.

He said: “My sources told me, ‘Get ready,’ because we had the Haaland race, with Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, many clubs involved, but this Bellingham race will be the same.

"Many top clubs ready to do something crazy for Jude Bellingham. Many different sources told me this; to get ready for a new Haaland race.”

Zeroing in on Liverpool, he continued: "Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on loan, but they need a new top midfielder next summer and Bellingham can be the player, so Liverpool will try for sure.

“In England, all the top clubs, not just Liverpool, are following Bellingham. Man City, for sure, but also Man United have been following Bellingham for a long time, so many clubs will be in the race.”

Adding Bellingham to a midfield featuring Thiago and Fabinho could be exactly what Klopp needs to win the Premier League and Champions League.

Signing him will not be easy though even if he wants to join the Reds - the money involved is going to be staggering.
