'Klopp wants...': Liverpool looking for "smart opportunity" and £49M Premier League dynamo is just the man

Liverpool could move for £49M-rated midfielder after the second report in two days links the club with a potential move for a Premier League proven player.

The Reds have been linked with moves for multiple midfielders following their first PL loss of the season against Manchester United.

Their midfield is currently suffering from four injuries and fans are demanding a new midfielder comes in to help them survive the season.

According to the latest reports, Liverpool 'won't panic buy' and are looking for a player who can play multiple roles in midfield. We think we know just the player...

Latest reports on Tielemans

Reports have revealed that the club will not 'panic buy' and will look for a signing that is of a similar process to that of Luis Diaz.

This reflects their transfer policy of the last few years and they should stick to their guns.

It's claimed by Fabrizio Romano that "if a smart opportunity like Luis Diaz appeared in January for example, otherwise they will stay with the current squad.”

Rather than signing a player who is fixed to a certain role/style.

One player who has been linked with a move is Leicester's Youri Tielemans who is currently worth £49M but it is in the final year of his deal and has refused to sign a new deal meaning he could leave for a lower fee this summer.

Whilst Tielemans doesn't have much experience playing a lone six role as Fabinho can, he is a brilliant 'number 8' and has experience in a two or three-man midfield for Leicester and experience in a 3-4-3 system at international level where he has over 50 caps - if any midfielder is versatile, it's Tielemans.

As claimed by the Daily Express Sport, "A move for Tielemans, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could be an interesting one to pursue for Liverpool and the 25-year-old is likely to be available for a relatively modest fee after turning down the offer of a new deal at Leicester City."

His stats show a well-rounded midfielder who is more focused on creating and attacking being in the 88th percentile for progressive passes.

But, from his heatmap from last season (below), he can emulate Jordan Henderson's presence on the right-hand side of midfield perfectly.

Currently, he only earns £33K-a-week, and is looking for a new challenge.

At Liverpool he could emulate the Georginio Wijnaldum role, adding consistency and quality as well as being someone that is for the present and future.
