23-goal Danish forward 'dreams' of playing for Liverpool

Danish forward Casper Tengstedt has claimed that he 'dreams' of playing for Liverpool and the young forward is certainly one to watch.

The 22-year-old has been making waves in Denmark and Norway and is becoming a solid young prospect.

He has this week expressed in interest in Liverpool in the future, but the Danish international has a long way to go, given he hasn't featured for the senior national team yet.

'Dreams of playing for Liverpool'

Danish forward Casper Tengstedt has admitted he dreams of a move to Liverpool in the future. "My dream is to one day play at Liverpool. Of course, you have to be allowed to dream.”

“But otherwise, I don’t have a career plan that says I want to go to Spain or Germany. I have not. I try to take it as it comes. I try to follow my gut feeling, just like when Rosenborg approached.”

He even spoke about how much the pressure has gone up since moving to Rosenborg and how he's taking it all in his stride.

“When I came to Rosenborg, there were journalists waiting when you arrived, and I wasn’t used to that at Horsens. Both before and after the matches, there is also a greater focus on you, so it has been a bit of an upheaval, but I think it has been positive and it has gone well so far.”

Having joined Rosenborg this summer, he's begun his career in the Superligaen in brilliant fashion, with eight goals and four assists in only 12 games - that's a goal contribution roughly every 49 minutes.

Despite being one of Denmark's best young prospects, he's not earned a call-up to the senior national team as of yet, but if he continues his early season form, it surely won't be too far away.

At 22, he's still young but he will need to secure a move to one of Europe's top five leagues within the next year or two to stake a claim for a top club like Liverpool.

As always, the name of the game is performing well and maintaining those levels. If he carries on his early season form, he may just reach that.
