When is Manchester City's Game in Hand? Premier League Title Race Just Got More Intense

After Liverpool lost 3-1 to Arsenal on Sunday, the Premier League title race has become more complicated.

Manchester City subsequently beat Brentford 3-1 on Monday to make up ground on the Reds, punishing them further for their slipup at the Emirates.

Phil Foden was the star of the show with the 23-year-old scoring a hattrick despite Brentford taking the lead in the 21st minute courtesy of a goal from Neil Maupay.

Before the defeat, Jurgen Klopp's side was five points clear of Arsenal and Manchester City but now both are just two points behind Liverpool.

More significantly, Man City have a game in hand that now gives them the opportunity to climb above Liverpool and go one point clear before they visit Anfield in March.

When is Manchester City's game in hand?

They face Brentford (again) at home on 20 February and a win at the Etihad would give them the initiative ahead of the business part of the season.

Liverpool host Manchester City on the 10th of March and if they can avoid losing before then, they will be in position to snatch the title back from Guardiola.

Of course, the Premier League could have more twists and turns in store between now and the end of the season in late May.

What's important is for supporters to stay calm and focus on enjoying the final season of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

While it may change soon, Liverpool are top of the Premier League but the fact remains that the Reds are top of the table.

Even better, they're playing some wonderful football.

That, in spite of injuries, suspensions and the poor timing of AFCON and the Asian Cup. Liverpool are going to keep fighting for the title. One defeat won't change that.

If Liverpool win their next 15 games, no matter what, they will be champions.
