Liverpool lost their third game in a row as Arne Slot’s men put out a disappointing show against a team suffering from injury problems.
Arsenal are at the top of the league as the Gunners had a good week, winning two consecutive English Premier League games in a row.
It’s the opposite for the Reds as they’ve lost two consecutive Premier League games alongside a loss in the UEFA Champions League, making it three losses in a row.
The game started with Moises Caicedo launching a rocket in the top left corner. Cody Gakpo, however, found the back of the net in the 63rd minute as Alexander Isak controlled a cross, serving it to the Dutchman.
It looked like the teams were gonna share the spoils for once, which would’ve made it the Merseysiders’ first draw of the season. However, it wouldn’t end that way as Brazilian teenager sensation Estevao made sure that the Blues closed Stamford Bridge with three points in the bag.
Gary Neville Liverpool disappointment

Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville expressed his disappointment after the game. He also mentioned that the final minutes were the worst.
“I thought after they scored, I was really disappointed in their level of performance. A lot has been made of Liverpool’s defensive work and rightly so, but that’s not why they’ve lost this game.”
“They’ve lost this game because in the last 15-20 minutes, their creative players, their players in the final half of the pitch, the midfield players and the forwards were absolutely useless”, Neville told Sky Sports.
“They were giving the ball away like you wouldn’t believe. Gakpo, Salah, the wastage. Wirtz, not knowing how to get into a game in the last 15 minutes when it was there for the taking and just sort of ended up almost marking Caicedo.”

On Isak, Wirtz and Kerkez…
The Englishman was the most critical about the latest signings, Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kirkez. Neville called out the new signings directly, considering the fees Liverpool paid for their services.
“Isak, I thought he’d started the game sharp, but didn’t quite get into it. Wirtz, when he came on, I was disappointed with him. He looks very immature in his knowledge of how to play the game.”
“Kerkez looks like a youth team player. I know he’s a good player, but he looks like he’s playing for the U21s. He looks so naïve; he looks like a baby out there.”
