Mohamed Salah is yet to sign a new deal with Liverpool.
The forward is having one of his best ever seasons in England, and is the driving force behind Liverpool this year. Arne Slot’s possession-based style has maximized his ability to influence the attack. Salah has 25 goals and 17 assists in the Premier League this season. Because of his efforts, Liverpool are currently on track to challenge for the treble.
The reds sit top of the Premier League, and have opened a 13-point gap over Arsenal. Arne Slot could win his first trophy this season in the League Cup final next weekend. Liverpool are also one step closer to their dream of winning the Champions League.
A 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain midweek sees the reds take a lead to Anfield for the second leg.

Mohamed Salah already had deal in place

Salah is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season when his current contract expires. He is not alone; Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk could also leave Anfield. All three have played a very big part in the team’s success on the field this season. In January, Saudi Pro League clubs bid for Mohamed Salah. However, Liverpool rejected the bids as they wanted to keep him till the end of the season.
Now, there has been a shock revelation about how Mohamed Salah had a deal in place with a Saudi Pro League club last summer. According to former Al Fateh boss Slaven Bilic, the Liverpool star nearly joined Al Ittihad. The Saudi club thought it was a ”done deal” before Salah changed his mind:
“There has definitely been a change this season under Arne Slot as, having been in Saudi Arabia last year, I know he wasn’t happy under Jurgen Klopp and we were expecting him to move. The whole of Saudi was ready for him and he would have been the star of the league.
“As far as we were all concerned, it was done and Mo Salah was going to join Al-Ittihad. I wasn’t surprised he didn’t move, though. He knows the move is there for him when he wants to leave Liverpool. It’s not a one-year ‘take it or leave it’ project in Saudi.”
Liverpool are already planning for Salah’s possible exit, with some players shortlisted ahead of this summer. The reds are looking to revamp their attack after Arne Slot has reportedly been frustrated with the current options this season.
