Title hero is almost certain to leave Anfield now
Federico Chiesa joined Liverpool last summer from Juventus, and it was seen as a smart move in the market by many due to the small fee the Reds paid.
However, Chiesa has struggled with fitness, and even when he has been fit, the winger has not managed to impress Arne Slot enough to play regularly.
He was left out of the squad against Leicester City last weekend, but according to Calciomercato.com, once Salah signed a new deal, the winger’s career at Liverpool was over.
The Italian was seen as a cheap insurance policy if Salah ended up leaving Liverpool in the summer, but that is not going to happen anymore.
Chiesa wants to stay at Liverpool, but it seems increasingly likely that he will need to leave Anfield to rekindle his career somewhere else.
A few Premier League clubs are interested in him, but he is largely expected to return to Italy in the summer.
