Manchester United stun Liverpool with shock swap deal for £60m striker

Liverpool are in the market for a striker, but the arrival of a forward could depend on player sales, as Richard Hughes has already pulled off a few expensive transfers. Manchester United are set to take advantage and are set to sign a top striker in a sensational swap deal.

The potential arrival of Florian Wirtz is set to blow a £113m hole into their transfer budget, and Liverpool are also committed to paying £30m for Jeremie Frimpong.

Another £40m to £45m is set to go towards the signing of Milos Kerkez, and while Liverpool want to bring in a couple more players, it will depend on player sales.

Manchester United are prepared to take advantage of his situation at Liverpool and pull off a sensational swap deal to sign a striker wanted at Anfield this summer.

Manchester United shock Liverpool with Italy trip

Victor Osimhen is a target for Liverpool, and the club have been in contact with his representatives to discuss a potential switch to Anfield this summer.

However, according to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Manchester United have moved ahead of the Reds with a proactive trip to Naples for talks with the Napoli hierarchy.

It has been claimed that Manchester United director of football negotiations, Matt Hargreaves, spoke with Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna and club chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.

A move for Osimhen was discussed, and Napoli are prepared to sell him if they receive a fee of £33m and Rasmus Hojlund moves to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this summer.

Manchester United are open to offers for the Norway striker, and will now discuss the matter internally to see whether they would be keen to trigger the swap.

Osimhen has scored 36 goals in all competitions this season on loan at Galatasaray and is almost certain to leave Napoli this summer.
