Liverpool look set to lose out in their reported interest in RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenian showed Jurgen Klopp exactly what he is all about with his impressive display against the Reds during pre-season.
Salzburg beat the Merseysiders 1-0 courtesy of an incredibly well-worked goal that Sesko started and finished.
He is an absolute beast of a forward and bullied Joe Gomez at times but it was his pace and surprising agility that really caught my eye.
Much like Erling Haaland, a Salzburg export, Sesko is 6ft4 and way faster than a man of that size normally is.
Benjamin Šeško will not decide his future before the next week. Meeting scheduled to think about proposals and then make final decision. 🚨🇸🇮 #transfers

Sesko is reportedly nearing a move to England but it looks as though Anfield will not be his next destination with interest from the Reds, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Man United and Chelsea.
United are at the most advanced stage of talks out of all interested clubs and it now seems as though they could take the next step by agreeing a fee with Sesko’s Austrian club.
A report from Spanish outlet Sport, via The Faithful, United have taken pole position and have held talks with his agent.
The Mancunians are prepared to agree a fee worth £42M (€50M) which apparently meets Salzburg’s demands.
Liverpool don’t need Sesko the way Erik ten Hag’s side does given they have just signed Darwin Nunez and he looks like he will explode into life in his first season in the Premier League.
He scored on his Premier League debut for the Reds against Fulham with a fantastic finish.

That said, I hope Sesko doesn’t become the ‘next Erling Haaland’ as some have tipped him if he joins United this season.
Liverpool are well-stocked in the no.9 position with Roberto Firmino, Darwin Nunez and the injured Diogo Jota providing Klopp with the depth he needs in his central attacking role.
Where the Reds do lack somewhat is in wide areas with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz the only real options out wide.
