Liverpool saw a late winner again at Turf Moor as Mohamed Salah converted a penalty in the 95th minute to help the club win four games in a row.
The Reds could win all four only with a goal in the final 10 minutes of the game. This stat has caused some concern among the wider community, but there are a larger number of football personalities backing Slot’s title defence.
Interestingly, CIES Football Observatory gave the Merseysiders the highest probability of winning the English Premier League this season at 28.9%.
Chelsea legend John Terry also backed the Reds, later claiming that the title belongs to Slot and Co., considering the Blues were too young for a place on the table.
“I think the title is theirs, to be honest. I think they have a big motivation from the very sad loss of Diogo Jota, which they always have in mind. I really hope Liverpool do it for that reason alone. I think they are the stronger team”, Terry told talkSPORT.
Current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was another bidder in the gamble, as the former Spanish footballer told the press that Liverpool were, without a doubt, the strongest team in the league.
“They are the strongest for sure. They have recruited the two most decisive players who were in Europe in the market, and they did really well to do that. They were very, very strong, and we need to look at ourselves and what we have to do in terms of our abilities to be better than them.”

Gary Neville also backs Liverpool
Manchester United legend Gary Neville was a commentator at the Manchester Derby and told Sky Sports that he did not doubt the Reds’ stoppage-time winner.
“[I thought] ‘I’ve got absolutely no doubts that by the time I get in this lift to come up to the gantry, Liverpool will have scored’. As soon as I open the lift doors (at the Etihad Stadium, where he was commentating on the Manchester derby), what do I hear?”
“One of the City fans says Liverpool have just scored. I knew that was going to happen because they’ve got that thing at the moment, haven’t they? That thing that maybe at times we [United] used to have, City have had it. Teams that win leagues have it”, Neville told the Sky Sports Podcast.
