Liverpool are drawing out plans for the next summer transfer window and the club are looking at several young players who could come and make a real difference to Arne Slot’s squad.
The Merseyside giants sit at the summit of the Premier League table and despite the clamour for new signings in January from the fans, the club have some very different ideas.
Arne Slot is happy with the depth he has in his squad and is not expected to make any demands for new players in the winter window despite the club not signing anyone of note last summer as well.
Liverpool will be prepared to jump for a long-term target if he becomes available in the winter window but the club are expecting a quiet window this winter.
However, plans are being formalised for next summer and Geovany Quenda is one of the young players the club are really interested in signing at the end of the season.
They have already spoken to Sporting Lisbon about their interest but they are now facing the prospect of Quenda joining their age-old rivals in Lancashire.
Manchester United push forward to try and sign him next summer

The Premier League giants have been interested in Quenda even before they hired Ruben Amorim as their head coach.
According to Portuguese daily A Bola, Manchester United have already expressed their interest in signing the 17-year-old winger to Sporting Lisbon.
Amorim has promised to not sign any players from Sporting Lisbon in the winter window but the summer will be a different story.
Quenda is a player that the new Manchester United head coach loves and the club are pressing forward with an attempt to secure a deal for his signature next summer.
Manchester United are preparing the groundwork for an approach and informal talks have already taken place between the two clubs.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
The 17-year-old winger has a €100m release clause but Manchester United won’t be paying such a figure for him in the summer.
The Manchester United hierarchy are working on an offer and are expected to start bidding for him at around €40m.
The two clubs have a strong working relationship, which was evident from the negotiations they carried out around Amorim’s move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United will look to leverage that relationship to ensure they get their hands on one of the most-wanted youngsters in European football, ahead of Liverpool.
