26-year-old Liverpool star named the 8th most valuable player in world football: He’s worth €110million

Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz has been named as the eighth-most valuable player in the world by CIES Football Observatory after his recent success with Liverpool.

The Colombian joined the club in January after a deal set up by Spurs was hijacked.

Since his arrival, Liverpool have won two trophies, reached the final of the Champions League and come within a point of winning the Premier League.

And he doesn’t even speak fluent English yet.

Oh, he was also given a league medal for his contributions to Porto’s title-winning season.

16 goals and 6 assists for Porto in Liga Portugal, Taca de Portugal and the Champions League group stages.

For Liverpool, the rapid winger scored 6 goals and assisted 5.

Not bad but definitely room to improve and I’m sure his second season with the Reds will be even better than his first five months at Anfield.

After his thrilling start to life at Liverpool, Diaz has been named as the eighth-most valuable player in the world by CIES Football Observatory.

He’s worth €110million (£94m).

Diaz has a long way to go to match the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Erling Haaland but with Jurgen Klopp working with him in training every day in training, he’s only going to get better.

Luis Diaz Liverpool fans welcomed him with open arms and he has been remarkable every time he has taken to the pitch.

In many ways, he reminds me of Luis Suarez.

He plays football to have fun and this is most obvious when he is dribbling.

More often than not, defenders are hesitant to challenge him for fear of being exposed.

We won’t discover how much Liverpool value Diaz as it’s really unlikely the Reds will receive a bid for him in the next few years.

Given that the Colombian should progress more and more next season, he’s bound to attract attention from other big clubs around Europe.

With the exception of Philippe Coutinho and potentially Sadio Mane (although it’s different to Coutinho), Liverpool don’t sell key players under Jurgen Klopp.

And Diaz is definitely not going anywhere anytime soon.
