The 2020/21 Champions League group stage draw was concluded yesterday at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Six-time winners Liverpool have been drawn into Group D after being in pot one before the draw commenced.
The 2018/19 Champions League winners will be looking to bounce back from an early exit by their standards. The Reds exited last season’s competition in the Round of 16 against Atletico Madrid.

So with the group confirmed I will take a look at Liverpool’s opponents.
Ajax Amsterdam
The four-time winners of this competition will be looking to put last year’s campaign behind them.
The Dutch side finished third in their group behind Chelsea and Valencia, missing progression by a point.
They would then enter the Europa League and be knocked out by Spanish side Getafe.
They will be hoping for a similar campaign to their 2018/29 run to the semi-final where they were seconds away from reaching the final, losing to Tottenham due to a sensational Lucas Moura hattrick.

Atalanta B.C.
The Italian side was one of the stories of last year’s tournament in their debut season in the competition.
Their attacking play caught the eyes of many neutral fans around the continent and saw them just minutes away from a semi-final place losing to PSG. There is one thing to guarantee from Atalanta and that is goals.
Lots of them.

FC Midtjylland
The outsiders to advance from the group are set to make their first-ever appearance in the group stages.
The Danish side had never got past the qualification round for the competition. They first hit the headlines beating Manchester United in the Europa League back in 2016. They will hold onto home advantage with travelling sides having to travel to Denmark in the cold winter months.
