Liverpool have identified another part of the squad that needs reinforcements this summer.
Arne Slot has made it clear that he wants new attackers in his team. This season, Liverpool have had one of the best attacks in the Premier League. But that is mainly down to how well Mohamed Salah has played this season. The forward has 22 goals and 14 assists in the league this campaign. Outside Cody Gakpo, the rest of Liverpool’s attackers have been underwhelming.
This is part of the reason why Liverpool are ready to part ways with Nunez, Diaz and Jota. The club feels they cannot rely on these players ahead of next season. All three have been linked with moves away from Anfield.
Arsenal are interested in signing Diogo Jota, and two Italian clubs are pursuing Darwin Nunez.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Liverpool ready to sign Barcelona star on one condition

Liverpool are also interested in beefing up their midfield. Arne Slot has had to rely on Gravenberch and Mac Allister for most of this season. The Dutch coach has rarely played either of Curtis Jones or Harvey Elliot. The reds are expected to pursue a midfielder during the summer.
FC Barcelona have show interest in signing Luis Diaz. Liverpool proposed a swap deal involving the Colombian, for Frenkie de Jong. The midfielder is out of favour at the Camp Nou and could be looking for a way out. The reds have show interest in the 27-year old.
Team Talk have reported that Liverpool will consider a deal for Frenkie de Jong in the summer. However, the only caveat is that the midfielder would have to reduce his wages. De Jong is reportedly on €19million per year in wages. This would make him the highest earner at Anfield. Mohamed Salah earns the most, at €21million per year.
If de Jong was to fit in Liverpool’s wage structure he would have to take a pay cut of around €7million to be on par with Virgil Van Dijk, who earns the second highest wage at €13million. FC Barcelona are reportedly looking for a fee around €35million for the Dutch international.
De Jong would be a great signing if he takes a pay cut
Frenkie de Jong ticks all the boxes for the kind of midfielder Arne Slot needs. He is great on the ball, and can track back defensively. The 27-year old would be the perfect foil for Ryan Gravenberch. If he decides to take a pay cut to fit into the club’s wage structure, he would be a bargain addition.
Liverpool could do with adding another quality midfield option if they want to challenge for more silverware next season.
