Liverpool continue to be quiet in the January transfer window.
The Reds are in the middle of negotiating long term deals for star players at the club. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave this summer. The club are now in a race against time to tie them down to new deals.
Trent has been linked to Champions League holders Real Madrid, and is reportedly willing to sign a pre-contract. Salah and Van Dijk on the other hand, have made it public that they have not been offered new deals. The Reds have also offered a new contract to Ibrahima Konate, but the French defender is unsure about his future at the club.

Liverpool linked with Bayern Munich transfer target
With a few days till the end of the January transfer window, it looks like Arne Slot will not be welcoming any new faces. However, Liverpool have been presented with an offer too good to refuse. According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich target Rayan Cherki is on the table for the Reds.
French side Lyon are desperate to move players off the books after receiving an ultimatum from league authorities this season. The Ligue 1 side have been provisionally relegated to Ligue 2 next summer unless their finances drastically improve.
Cherki would be availabe for a reported €22million according to Sky Germany. Journalist Florian Plettenburg has stated that the Bundesliga giants are monitoring the status of the French international:
”FC Bayern are monitoring Rayan Cherki and have gathered all relevant information about his future plans. Bayern are also aware that he would cost only €22-23m in winter or summer.”
Cherki has five goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 and the Champions League combined this season.
Will the Reds move for Cherki?
The main priority for the club in the coming months is to see whether they can sign Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold to new deals. The fee is a bargain fee similar to what the Reds signed Federico Chiesa for in the summer.
With the lack of goals and creativity off the bench in recent weeks, Liverpool could really use a player like Cherki in their squad. However, it seems like there will be no significant business around the club until something changes in the next few days. Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move away from the club.
