The Merseyside giants are shaping up to have their biggest transfer window, but they are expected to do more shopping in the coming weeks. Signing a striker is still a priority, and Liverpool are set to gain because of a hesitant Chelsea this summer.
Liverpool have already snapped up Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, and are set to break several transfer records as they push towards signing Florian Wirtz.
However, their priority in the market this summer has been to sign a striker as Arne Slot wants an elite option to replace the misfiring Darwin Nunez, who will leave soon.

Hugo Ekitike will leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, and he is on the shortlist of several clubs in the ongoing transfer window.
Liverpool have been in talks with his representatives, but the club are clearly waiting to see whether they can get Isak before trying to sign other targets.
Chelsea have had a clear run at him, and the club have been in detailed discussions with his camp over a potential move to Stamford Bridge for the last few days.
However, according to German daily Bild, Chelsea are hesitant to go all in and push to secure a deal for the Frenchman’s signature this summer.
The Blues are yet to contact Eintracht Frankfurt, and are not prepared to match the German club’s £84m asking price.
Chelsea remain interested in the striker, but do not want to pay more than £68m for him this summer.
Liverpool now have an opportunity to try and turn Ekitike’s head and take him to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window.
