Liverpool to make ‘significant’ contract offer in a bid to keep star man at Anfield

This is Anfield

Liverpool are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table but the club are battling headlines about the future of several of their top stars who could leave the club next summer.

The Merseyside giants have won seven of their opening eight Premier League games and have been tipped to sustain a title challenge this season.

Arne Slot has made a big impact since taking charge of the team from Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season and is proving his credentials in the Premier League.

However, the club are having to deal with rumours over the future of their top stars given their current contract situation with Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that the club are in talks with his agents over a new deal but Trent Alexander-Arnold is being pursued hard by European champions Real Madrid.

Mohamed Salah has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but Liverpool are unconcerned about the speculation surrounding the forward.

Salah is also being pursued by Paris Saint-Germain and a few teams in the MLS but Liverpool are confident that he will stay at Anfield.

There are claims that the winger is most likely to move to Saudi Arabia next summer but the Reds are certain that his priority is to stay on Merseyside.

The forward is said to be demanding a three-year contract and according to Fichajes, Liverpool are set to meet that demand.

The Reds are working on making a significant offer to the forward and they will soon place a new three-year deal for him to consider.

He would be offered significant wages to stay at Anfield and the club are hopeful that the attacker will reject offers to move to Saudi Arabia, France or the United States.

Liverpool are aware of Salah’s importance and the role he has played in turning the club into genuine contenders for trophies in England and Europe.

They want to do everything possible to convince him to continue his career at Anfield beyond the end of his current contract next summer.

Salah’s goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday was his 218th strike for the Reds in 360 appearances. He also has 95 assists to his name.

It’s not just Liverpool’s first team stars being linked with moves away with one of their brightest young stars tipped to leave which you can read about here.
