Liverpool to accept shock offer to sell Andy Robertson

Liverpool are prepared to accept a shock offer for Andy Robertson in a move that could signal the end of an era at Anfield. The Scotland international, who has been a key figure under multiple managers, may be set for a surprise summer exit as interest intensifies.

Andy Robertson has won two Premier League titles and a Champions League at Anfield, but his future at Liverpool is under scrutiny, with the club ready to sell him.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, and the Hungarian is likely to be the first-choice left-back next season.

With Kostas Tsimikas seemingly happy to play second fiddle to Kerkez, Robertson’s departure seems to be on the cards, and a sale looks imminent this summer.

Robertson has agreed on personal terms with Atletico Madrid and has given his final approval to the potential move to the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.

With Kerkez set to join, former Premier League scout Mick Brown believes Liverpool will be looking to sell one of the left-backs this summer.

He believes Liverpool will be more than happy to accept an offer for the Scotland captain as it will make financial sense to sell him rather than let go of Tsimikas.

“Kerkez is a top-class player”, Brown told Football Insider.

“He will go to Liverpool and be their first-choice left-back.

“I didn’t realise Robertson is into his 30s now, and while he could still perform at the top level, it won’t be long until his abilities start to fade.

“They’ve got Tsimikas there as well, and they’re not going to carry three left-backs.

“All three of those will want to play first-team football, and two won’t be getting it at Liverpool.

“In terms of wages and transfer value, they would make the most back from letting Robertson go.

“If they get an acceptable offer for him, I think they’ll entertain it.”
