Liverpool title hero to trigger stunningly fast Anfield exit

Liverpool are the Premier League champions, but several players are uncertain about their long-term futures at Anfield even before the season has ended. It seems certain that one star is set to move on from Anfield as soon as possible in the upcoming transfer window.

Arne Slot wants to restock his squad with fresh talent over the next transfer window, and the club are expected to bring in as many as five new signings.

However, the Reds are also under pressure to bring in good money through player sales, and several stars are fighting for their future ahead of the next transfer window.

While the club have decided to sell a few players, they remain uncommitted on what to do with certain stars, and one such title hero is almost certain to push for an exit this summer.

Liverpool star set to push for a quick exit from Anfield

Liverpool are undecided on certain fringe stars, but one player is expected to make up his mind to leave Anfield sooner rather than later.

Federico Chiesa has not worked out at Liverpool, and clubs in Italy are interested in taking him back to Serie A in the upcoming summer transfer window; Tottenham are also interested in him.

There were suggestions that he wants to stay at Anfield, but journalist Graeme Bailey insisted that it would be astonishing if he continues at Anfield, given he wants to be in the Italy squad for the 2026 World Cup.

He stressed that Liverpool are happy to keep him around if he is content being a fifth or sixth-choice attacker in the squad, and believes Chiesa is almost certain to move on quicker than expected.

“On Chiesa, the thinking is if he wants to stay, they’ll let him stay”, Bailey told Rousing the Kop.

“They’re happy to let him fight for his place. If he wants to go, they’ll let him go. That’s the thinking. It will be totally dependent on the player himself.

“Intrinsically, he hasn’t been good enough to get in the team. If he wants to be there as a fifth, sixth-choice striker, then they’re happy to let him. The outlay on him was minimal.

“However, I’d be absolutely amazed if he’s still there in August. He’ll be keen to get back in the Italy team ahead of the World Cup.

“I don’t see how he stays, and that’s the way Liverpool are seeing it. They’re not attacking him, he’s not attacking them. It just hasn’t worked out.

“It was a no-brainer signing, a no-risk situation, and they’re not going to lose money on the deal.”
