Liverpool are in the market for wide forwards, and the club is still unsure whether Mohamed Salah will sign a new contract and extend his stay beyond the end of the season.
Salah will be out of contract at the end of the ongoing campaign and negotiations over a new deal have stalled with no suggestions that a resolution could be imminent.
The 32-year-old forward wants to stay at Anfield but is demanding a three-year contract, which Liverpool are reluctant to offer at this stage given his advancing years and wages.
Liverpool are still pushing to keep him but the club are actively seeking replacements and are compiling a shortlist of players who could be brought in to succeed Salah at Anfield.
Several players are on their radar but Liverpool have recently been linked with an interest in getting a former Premier League winger back to England at the end of the season.

The former Leeds winger has been linked with a return to England where Liverpool and Arsenal are considering getting their hands on him.
According to TBR Football, the 27-year-old is more than willing to explore the opportunity to move back to the Premier League next summer.

He feels he has unfinished business in England and wants to star for one of the bigwigs of the English top flight if he gets an opportunity.
However, Barcelona do not want to sell and would prefer to move on Ferran Torres over Raphinha in the next summer transfer window.
The Catalan giants will need a big sale next summer and Raphinha could attract massive offers from the Premier League at the end of the season.
If a club decide to put down an offer of around €90m, Barcelona could be forced into selling the Brazil winger next summer.
