Liverpool target comments on transfer rumours amidst interest from Manchester United

Liverpool are wary of losing Mohamed Salah next summer when he can leave the club on a free transfer due to his current contract situation.

The forward is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and it has led to speculation over his long-term future at Anfield despite his consistent performances on the pitch.

He has scored four times in six Premier League games this season and has been pivotal to Liverpool’s rousing start to the campaign under new manager Arne Slot.

However, the noise around his future is a distraction and Liverpool have been asked to break the bank to keep him as they won’t be the same without Salah in their team.

But Liverpool are looking at several options if they are to replace the winger and Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi has made a real impact on their recruitment team.

The Reds have intensified their scouting on the Dortmund star who is also on the radar of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle.

Liverpool target rules out mid-season transfer

The Reds are seriously considering Adeyemi as the successor to Salah if the superstar leaves the club on a free transfer next summer.

They could even make a move to sign the forward in January if he becomes available but the attacker has poured cold water on any chance of a transfer in the middle of the season.

Adeyemi insisted that he won’t be leaving Dortmund in the winter window despite the rumours surrounding his future.

He stressed that he loves being a Dortmund player and is happy to continue at the Westfalenstadion for now.

“Nothing happens during the winter break!”, Adeyemi told the club’s official website.

“I feel really good here in Dortmund.

“I’ve been a big fan since I was a little boy. I like playing here.”

He is rated at €50m at the minute but that price could rise if he continues to perform the way he did against Celtic on Tuesday night when he scored a hat-trick against the Scottish champions.
