The Merseyside giants have made some bold moves in the transfer window this summer, and some of them are expected to pay off soon. However, Liverpool are facing the real threat of losing a title hero, someone they do not want to sell, to the riches of Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks.
Liverpool have already stunned the Premier League and the rest of Europe with their headline-grabbing pursuit of Florian Wirtz, who was also wanted at Bayern Munich and Manchester City before he chose the Reds.
The Reds have already announced Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival and are closing in on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in the coming days.
However, Liverpool are keen to hold on to their top stars. But a title hero seems to be attracting serious interest from Saudi Arabia, and his contract situation is not making anyone comfortable on Merseyside.

Ibrahima Konate’s contract situation has been a concern for Liverpool, but it appeared recently that there was progress made in negotiations over a new deal.
However, Liverpool are again wary of watching the Frenchman leave as early as this summer and not because he is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.
The BBC’s Sami Mokbel has claimed that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are interested in getting their hands on the French defender this summer.
A deal could get fast-forwarded if they want Konate in the team for the Club World Cup that starts later this month.
“One name to keep an eye on is Ibrahima Konate”, Mokbel said on BBC’s Q&A.
“He is in talks over a new contract, but his existing deal expires at the end of next season. If an agreement can’t be reached, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool consider offers for the France international to avoid losing him for nothing in 2026.
“Paris Saint-Germain and Al Hilal are the clubs I’ve heard who have an interest in Konate.
