The Merseyside giants have made a few bold moves already in the market and are set for a huge transfer window this summer. However, Chelsea are poised to beat Liverpool to the signature of a teen wonderkid who has been on Liverpool’s radar for months.
Liverpool have already announced Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival as Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s replacement, and are on the verge of agreeing on a club-record deal to sign Florian Wirtz.
The Reds still have other priority positions to fill, and signing a versatile defender for the backline is a key goal for the club in the summer transfer window.
Dean Huijsen snubbed a move to Liverpool in favour of Real Madrid, but the Reds are now running the risk of losing another key target to Chelsea in the summer.

Jorrel Hato has been on Liverpool’s radar for over a year, and Virgil van Dijk is a big admirer of his young Dutch teammate.
His ability to play both at centre-back and left-back appeals to Arne Slot, but at the moment, Chelsea have the lead in the race to sign the Dutchman.
According to TEAMTalk, Chelsea have made fresh contacts with Ajax to discuss a deal to take Hato to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window.
As things stand, the Blues will soon open negotiations with Ajax and push to work out an agreement for Hato’s potential transfer to west London.
The Dutch giants are aware that Hato is too good to stay at Ajax, but are determined to get a big fee from his sale this summer.
They are expected to demand somewhere around £42m before agreeing to sell the 19-year-old defender, who has already played 111 times for Ajax.
