Manchester City to sign top target from under Liverpool’s nose

Andrea Cambiasso has emerged as Liverpool’s target this summer after it has emerged that Juventus are prepared to sell him for a reasonable transfer fee.

The Serie A giants are prepared to accept offers between £40m and £50m for the Italy defender in the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, according to TEAMTalk, the Reds are not the favourites to land Cambiasso because of Manchester City’s interest in signing him.

Pep Guardiola identified the Italian as the top target to replace Kyle Walker in the winter transfer window, and Manchester City wanted him in January.

However, talks between the two clubs broke down after Juventus refused to lower their £75m asking price and rejected an offer of around £54.5m from the Citizens.

Cambiasso is sold on a move to the Etihad, and Manchester City are pushing to do a deal to sign him for a lower fee in the summer transfer window.
