Arne Slot wants the club to raid Barcelona for a top star

Frenkie de Jong is happy at Barcelona, who are the favourites to win the league and the Champions League this season.

However, with Barcelona’s financial situation, the club are unlikely to resist offers for the Dutchman if a club are prepared to spend big money for him.

According to Todo Fichajes via Football365, Slot has directed Liverpool to try and snare the Netherlands star away from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The Dutchman is a big fan of his compatriot and believes the cultured midfielder will take his team to a different level next season.

Liverpool are prepared to offer a bid in the region of £30m to sign the Dutch midfielder ahead of next season.

However, Barcelona are only prepared to sell him for a big fee, and it could take as much as double that amount to convince them to let him go.
