Liverpool have stunned their Premier League rivals, who are hoping to catch up to the English champions next season, with their moves in the transfer market.
The Merseyside giants are in negotiations to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a club-record deal, and have already finalised Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival from the German club.
Liverpool have now set their sights on a top England star, and seem to have the edge over Tottenham and Newcastle in the race to sign the Premier League ace this summer.

Marc Guehi has a year left on his contract at Crystal Palace, and the club are keen to sell him this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer next year.
Newcastle United believe that they have the edge in the race to sign him, a year after they failed with five bids for him, and even Tottenham are interested in signing him.
However, according to Football Insider, Guehi has turned down a move to the north London club in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Tottenham will not try to convince him anymore, and it has been claimed that Liverpool are now accelerating a deal to take him to Anfield this summer.
The Reds wanted him last year, but refused to engage in a bidding war with Newcastle.
With a year left on his deal, he is available for a fee of £40m, and he would prefer a move to Anfield over Newcastle, if given a choice this summer.
