Manchester United are set to face a Liverpool transfer hijack in a stunning summer twist

Manchester United have identified Ederson as their top target for the summer transfer window, and have been in contact with Atalanta over agreeing on a deal.

They are working on a deal for months, but Manchester United will now have to fend off a transfer hijack attempt by their arch-rivals Liverpool this summer.

According to Tutto Atalanta, Liverpool have opened initial talks with Atalanta to probe the possibility of signing Ederson in the upcoming transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder has been on Liverpool’s radar for a couple of years, and they are now considering preventing him from joining Manchester United.

Given their spending spree this summer, Liverpool could need player sales to fund a move for Ederson, but they are keen to at least try their luck.

Manchester United do not want to miss out on him and are pushing hard to sign him from Atalanta, who want £50m from his sale.
