Liverpool stun Europe with blockbuster £59m swoop for Real Madrid star

Liverpool and Real Madrid have been on opposite ends of several battles in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Reds are plotting to snare away a star man from Real Madrid, whom they have been chasing since before he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s tapping up of Trent Alexander-Arnold since last year didn’t impress anyone at Liverpool, and the boyhood Red is set to join the European giants this summer.

The Spanish giants also have their eyes on Alexis Mac Allister and have been actively encouraging Ibrahim Konate to run down the final year of his contract at Anfield.

However, Liverpool now have a golden chance to land a blow on Real Madrid and sign a top player from the European giants in the ongoing transfer window.

Real Madrid star wanted by Liverpool is up for sale this summer

Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign Aurelien Tchouameni for Liverpool when the Frenchman snubbed Anfield in favour of a move to Real Madrid in 2022.

However, the Frenchman is no longer a major player at Real Madrid and has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, new Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has already decided that he does not need the midfielder next season.

He has told the Real Madrid board to sell him, and the Frenchman is up for sale in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool are in the market for a midfielder and have a long-standing interest in Tchouameni, who will be looking for a new club this summer.

Real Madrid have identified a £59m asking price, but he could be available for a lower fee if a club are willing to negotiate.

A move to Liverpool would appeal to Tchouameni as it would be a chance for him to prove himself at a top club.
